Just after writing the post of the new camaro I went to the official Chevrolet site and I noticed something that I hadn’t seen before. If you goto http://www.chevrolet.com/performance/ and click on the features part and scroll down you will read the following words
And now, Camaro is returning to the streets. You’ll be able to get the four-passenger. reer-wheel-drive performance Camaro in 2009
So I guess we can be sure it won’t even be a 2008 Camaro but it will be a Chevy Camaro 2009. As they took the design of the 1969 Chevy Camro I guess we should have know that they would release it in 2009 as it will be 40 years exactly after that great design was released.
All I can say… I want a Chevy Camaro 2009
It looks like the new Camaro will not be released this year. I saw some rumours around that it will be taken into production in 2008. I also saw some pictures of the new 2009 Camaro Converable and I have included one here.
It’s not yet very clear what the final specs will be but the following is stated from the Chevrolet camaro website
- Choice of a V8 or V6 engine
- Manual transmission or automatic
- Rear wheel drive with total independent suspension
In the next weeks I will add a lot of pictures of the 2007 Camaro.
